Role overview

The Design Integration Lead is the connective tissue between Haven, the customer team, external consultants, and the realities of the jobsite. If the Head of Construction & Project Delivery is the conductor, this role is the integrator who keeps every discipline in sync. You will own the translation of customer design intent into coordinated, buildable documentation, and you will be accountable for ensuring drawings, models, and system integrations meet Haven’s standards. With technical authority, you will direct architectural and engineering consultants, coordinate MEP and structural systems, and manage design changes driven by field feedback. The result is tighter alignment across design, engineering, and construction, enabling faster turnaround, higher accuracy, and continuous improvement across Haven’s repeatable home product line.

Core responsibilities
  • Coordinate communication, priorities, and timelines across the customer team, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Translate customer needs and jobsite insights into clear technical requirements for designers, engineers, and modelers.
  • Direct architectural modelers and engineering consultants, reviewing work for accuracy and alignment with original design intent.
  • Navigate and review BIM models (primarily Revit) to validate system integration and identify conflicts.
  • Lead MEP and structural coordination to ensure systems are accurately represented and buildable.
  • Capture feedback from installation and construction teams and convert it into design and documentation improvements for future homes.
  • Drive the full sign-off process with engineers, clients, production, and product teams.
  • Establish standards, workflows, and coordination processes that reduce errors and shorten drawing and model turnaround times.

Key attributes
  • Proactive, decisive, and comfortable giving clear direction to teammates, clients, and consultants.
  • Strong technical foundation, including Revit proficiency and a working understanding of MEP and structural coordination.
  • Project management mindset with the ability to run multiple workstreams and keep information flowing across internal and external teams.
  • Continuous-improvement orientation: you challenge how work is delivered and look for ways to strengthen Haven’s product and process.
  • Detail-driven and rigorous, with strong quality control instincts for drawings and models.
  • Clear communicator in writing and verbally, able to simplify complexity and set expectations.
  • Highly collaborative and relationship-oriented, effective across teams distributed across the country.

Reporting and collaboration
  • Reports to: Head of Construction & Project Delivery
  • Key collaboration with: Head of Product Design, Head of Manufacturing
  • Works closely with: Customer team, architectural modelers, structural and MEP consultants, installation and construction teams, product engineering, and production

How it will work

This role functions as the central hub for design accuracy, engineering alignment, and construction feedback. In practice, that means you will:

  • Own the full coordination workflow from early requirements through final sign-off, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Make independent decisions on model revisions, consultant direction, and conflict resolution based on experience and established standards.
  • Translate real-world construction insights into improvements that compound over time, strengthening each repeatable design package.
  • Build and maintain scalable workflows: consistent documentation, predictable coordination cycles, and fewer downstream issues.
  • Operate as both a hands-on technical lead and a process builder, with a path to evolve into managing a small internal coordination team.
